Material Weight Calculator: Construction Material Weights
Knowing material weights is critical for structural design, crane lifts, transport, and safe manual handling (max 25kg per person under WHS Regulations). This calculator provides weights for common construction materials by volume or area.

Weight = Volume (m³) × Density (kg/m³). For sheets: Area × Weight per m².
Frequently Asked Questions
How much does a cubic metre of concrete weigh?
Reinforced concrete weighs approximately 2,400 kg/m³ (2.4 tonnes). A 100mm slab weighs 240 kg/m².
How heavy is a plasterboard sheet?
A 2400×1200×10mm sheet weighs approximately 24.5 kg. The 13mm version is around 30 kg.
Safe manual handling weight?
General guideline is 25 kg maximum for a single person lift. Heavier items need mechanical aids or team lifting.
